As everybody knows by now, recently Arizona's Governor signed a law requiring local law enforcement officials to take into custody persons when they have a "reasonable suspicion" that they are present in the U.S. illegally. The person would be turned over to the Immigration Service, and be released from jail if they could demonstrate their legal status. I had been in H-1B status and was laid off. My H-1B was withdrawn by my company on 12/31/2010. I applied for COS to B2 and received the USCIS receipt notice on Dec 17th, a few days before my H-1B was withdrawn.
Later on Feb 2nd, 2011, I received the approval notice from USCIS for B2 valid from 02/02/2011 to 04/29/2011(I had informed in my application that this would be my date of departure.) My question is: What status would I be from the date my H-1B was withdrawn till the B2 validity start date?

Hello IVians,
I am not fully aware of all the benefits of having EAD after filing 485. If you have the knowledge about it could you please list down it in this thread.

as of now it lets the spouse to start working.. & then the not too fancy AC21 portability.. Advanced Parole for trvael outside the US etc..
in terms of GC its just another waiting phase..
EAD - Enter Another Delayed process....

Hi,
I got RFE on Advance Parole requesting proof that I have complied with NSEERS.
All I know is I went for Special Registeration back in 2003 when it initially started and citizens of specific countries were required to go for that special registeration. The immigration officer stamped my I-94 and wrote a FIN# on my passport and I-94.
Last time I travelled out of US was back in May 2001 for couple of weeks.
Now got this RFE any idea what do I need to submit.

Hi,
I am confused with AP expiration date.
The printed exiration date is :July 29, 2009
But my latest paroled stamp on AP it is : Dec 05, 2009.
Which date should i follow to renew my AP?

Go by original printed exiration date. Someone confused with this . He has to reapply for the green card.

Was with a bunch of D3 users!!
Nice machine. They were taking images long after the 1Ds and 1D "3"s gave up in the light....

Dear Sir/Madam,
I would really appreciate if you can help on the question below.
1) My wife changed her last name after our wedding.
2) She got it updated on new passport, I-20 and SSN.
Now, we are planning to travel to India. She has her old as well as new passport .. and the F1 visa and I-94 is still at the old passport.
My question is: Does she need to get her F1 stamped again in order to get the updated name on her new passport?
I would greatly appreciate your fast response.
